BBC News is
reporting a surger in deaths from liver disease. A report from the
National End of Life Care Intelligence Network says 11,575 people died from liver disease in England in 2009. This is a big 25% jump from the 9,231 people who died of liver disease in 2001.
Alcoholism, obesity and hepatitis are blamed for the rise in deaths. 70% of those who die of liver disease end up dying tin the hospital.
